AIREO Cyclone Blue Elongated NanoGraph review: the soft feel that still has some punch
A long Heroes Pickleball session showed a softer all-court paddle that still had enough pace when the ball sat up.

We brought the AIREO Cyclone Blue Elongated NanoGraph to a long Heroes Pickleball session and gave it plenty to do: soft exchanges at the kitchen, roll volleys, counters, drives, and overheads. Gayle, Albert, Carlos, Ruben, and David all spent time with it.
The question was simple. Could a 16mm paddle feel forgiving on touch shots without going flat when the ball sat up? After a few hours, the answer was mostly yes.
First feel: long handle, balanced shape, easy to settle into
The Cyclone looks like a modern performance paddle: matte-black carbon face, teal-and-silver vortex graphics, blue edge guard, and an elongated 5.7-inch grip. Players who use a two-handed backhand noticed that handle right away. It gives you a little more room without making the paddle feel awkward in hand.
The shape felt familiar after only a few rallies. It did not demand a big adjustment period, which matters if you are demoing paddles between games instead of spending a week dialing one in.
The softer side showed up around the kitchen
AIREO calls the construction Floating Foam Suspension. The idea is that the core is not locked completely rigid against the edge structure, which is meant to create a little more give at contact.
Whatever is happening inside the paddle, Albert felt it most on third-shot drops and touch placement. He said the ball seemed to stay on the face for a fraction longer, making it easier to slow down and choose a target instead of just surviving the shot.
Gayle noticed the same general character from a different angle. After a long stretch of hard hitting, the paddle felt calmer than the stiffer thermoformed paddles she has used. The response was plush rather than dead. There is a difference.
Spin stayed useful without turning every shot into a science project
The NanoGraph™ carbon-grit hybrid surface is built for traction. Carlos and Ruben spent time on roll volleys, cuts, and the kind of angled shots that make your partner sigh and walk toward the kitchen line a little more slowly.
The surface gave them enough bite to shape the ball, but the bigger point was consistency. The texture still felt present late in the session. That does not tell us how it will wear over months of play, but it did not feel slick or tired after repeated use that day.
There is more pace here than the soft feel suggests
The PulseFoam™ microcellular polypropylene core is meant to respond more as swing speed goes up. David found that believable in play. On dinks and resets, the paddle stayed controlled. When he sped up through a drive or overhead, it gave him usable pace without feeling overly springy.
That makes the Cyclone a better fit for players who do not want to choose between a control paddle and a paddle they can attack with. It is not a pure power hammer. It is a softer all-court option that can still finish a ball when you have the opening.

Who should demo it
The Cyclone makes the most sense for an all-court player who wants a softer, more damped response and still wants confidence on drives. The longer handle is a real plus if you use two hands on the backhand. Players coming from a very stiff thermoformed paddle may also appreciate the more forgiving feel in long kitchen exchanges.
If you want the loudest, firmest possible pop off the face, this may not be your first pick. If you want touch without giving up the ability to put a ball away, it is worth putting in your hands.
Final take
The AIREO Cyclone Blue Elongated NanoGraph felt controlled, comfortable, and more capable on offense than its soft response first suggests. Our group liked the balance between touch at the kitchen and pace on a committed swing.
A paddle demo is still the best test. Your grip, swing, and preferred shot shape matter more than anybody else’s verdict. But based on this Heroes Pickleball session, the Cyclone is a strong all-court paddle for players who want a calmer feel without playing passive.
